Frequently Asked Questions
What is a sports massage and how does it differ from other types of massage?
A sports massage is a specialized form of massage therapy designed to address the specific needs of athletes and active individuals. It differs from other types of massage in that it focuses on improving athletic performance, preventing and treating sports-related injuries, and aiding in post-exercise recovery. Sports massage therapists use techniques such as deep tissue massage, stretching, and myofascial release to target muscle groups and areas of tension commonly affected by athletic activity. It is typically more vigorous and may involve active or passive stretching compared to the relaxation-focused approach of traditional massages.
Can a sports massage help with injury prevention and recovery?
Yes, a sports massage can help with injury prevention by addressing muscle imbalances and enhancing flexibility. It also aids in injury recovery by promoting blood flow, reducing muscle tension, and accelerating healing after sports-related injuries.
What is your pricing, packaging and discounts?
Please refer to our pricing in our drop down menu located at the top of our website.
How often should I schedule sports massage sessions for optimal results?
The frequency of sports massage therapy sessions depends on individual needs and activity levels. For most athletes, scheduling a sports massage every 1-2 weeks during intense training periods and less frequently during maintenance phases can be effective. Consult with a sports massage therapist for personalized recommendations.
Do you have experience working with athletes in my specific sport or discipline?
I specialize in working with a diverse clientele that includes professional bodybuilders, Division 1 athletes, individuals involved in various sports, and highly active individuals.
What is your cancellation policy and scheduling availability?
